Woven into the rainbows, shamrocks, pints of Guinness, folk music, and gingers (Grit’s people), is an inimitable and fierce Irish spirit. It is wild, brave, whimsical, and inviting, and you are greeted by this ethos the moment you step foot into Ireland. Over the course of four days, I was able to learn about the many sides of Irish culture: the tumultuous history, the Celtic mythology, the artistic and literary traditions and, of course, the warm, witty, and welcoming people. (Sorry not sorry - I’m clearly going through an alliterative phase). My solo trip was nothing short of fantastic, and I hope to return one day to venture further north & perhaps do some exploring of the castles and forts. Here are some snapshots from my time in Dublin, Galway, and the Burren.
